about
My first time recording anything, ever, using a real actual microphone that didn't come attached to my phone/laptop. I apologize for the low quality, at the time I had only played guitar for about six(?) months, and this was my first time writing an actual song from start to finish.
Intended to be a song for one person, but was told that I should put it out there somewhere. I guess sometimes peer pressure is good, who'da thunk it?
lyrics
Cause I was up in the tower I was up all night
Trying not to let you in
But the smell of your sweetness the feel of your skin makes it hard
And I’m pulling your clothes off and thanking my demons for bringing you to me
And I’m taking my time and I'm getting lost
In the sea
Of your blankets and bodies and thank yous and sorrys and calling you baby I've been hoping lately
That will begin to see you're not the best part of me
And im fucked up
And I can't help but wonder if the place were reversed would you do the same for me
[Interlude]
I'm not allowed on the furniture sometimes
Out of fear that it might start to seem like it's mine
You woke me in the night and you shifted my bones
To where the quiet of the snow
Reflects the light of the city and
I was all yours
You laid your claim to me and I laid with yours
As your breath melted me away
And in the quiet, I would say...
Please understand I'm not trying to hurt you
My heart is elastic and pain is my virtue
I want days and nights and I just want to touch you
But your love is an ocean that I've gotten lost to
